September 2019: A stakeholder working group was formed by the government. A draft law is expected to go to the parliament after summer 2020. The government is aiming to have the new law published in the state gazette by January 2021.
2020-04-17: Publication of a first draft national implementation proposal for public consultation by the State Intellectual Property Office.
2020-05-15: Virtual public presentation of the draft proposal by the State Intellectual Property Office.
2020-05-17: Consultation deadline.

2020-10-07: The Croatian State Intellectual Property Office published the Report on public consultation on the Draft bill, including all 727 comments received by the interested stakeholders.
2020-11-16: A second draft of the bill has been tabled in parliamentary committee. Comments put forward by the Croatian Librarian Association, National Library and CC/Wikimedia to the first draft were all dispelled on grounds that the wording is a direct transposition of the Directive.
2020-11-19: "The Bill on Copyright and Related Rights is accepted. All remarks, proposals and opinions presented in the discussion will be sent to the the Ministry of Culture for the purpose of drafting the Final Bill." The final proposal will then be sent to parliament for the regulatory process.
2021-02-11: The Law is in its first reading now, and we can propose amendments once the Law is tabled in the second reading.
2021-07-29: Latest consolidated version of the proposed law.
